Fineprint. Our story, so far.
Fineprint was born in 2016 following an encounter between two strangers, who later became good mates. Scottie Callaghan, an obsessive Aussie barista who wanted to serve Hong Kong with great coffee and bakery items in a neighborhood-style coffee bar. James Wilson, a fellow Aussie bar owner on Peel Street, agreed it was a great idea to serve coffee during the day.
The first nine months of our journey were a little chaotic, a bar and a café operating out of our little space on Peel Street, but we had fun. We then decided it made more sense to jump into bed together, metaphorically speaking, and that’s when we combined forces and the name Fineprint was born.
In 2018, we decided to make a few giant leaps, started roasting our own Fineprint Coffee, signed a second lease in Tai Hang and started baking our sourdough bread, all of which we were super pumped about and still are.
In 2020, we made some more big leaps, welcomed our third branch in Sai Ying Pun, rented an ample production space and head office in Lai Chi Kok, launched our online shop and partnered with Deliveroo to get Fineprint goodness at your doorstep.
We grew into who we are today because hundreds of you supported us day in and day out and some fantastic individuals joined our team along the journey.
Today we are more evident than ever on who we are and what we are about; the best quality coffee, wine and sourdough bread served in relaxed, welcoming neighborhood venues.
We hope to keep growing our brand, and we have you in Hong Kong to be thankful for and love what we offer. We are eternally grateful to our ever-growing team and their hard work, loyalty and support. We have experimented a lot over the years - bagels, sandwiches, lamingtons, toasties, pretzels, Australian style coffee, cocktails, wine, pastries, salads, cold cut meats, cheese and the like. Some you liked, and well, maybe some weren’t your favorite. But the ones you loved are what we take pride in as of today.
