Head of Coffee

Location: Hong Kong
Position: Full time

As Head of Coffee, you will lead the coffee program for FINEPRINT, working cross-functionally with all areas of the business to drive innovation, excellence and commercial success from bean to cup. You will lead initiatives spanning education, training, quality control, consistency, product development and cafe operations which drive a quality focused and consistent coffee experience at scale and as we grow. Your passion for specialty coffee and experience in various senior leadership roles will foster a culture of passion for coffee across the company. This role reports directly into the General Manager. 

Role and Responsibilities:

• Product Quality and Consistency: Own systems which target beverage product quality and consistency in our cafes. Regularly review and update operating systems to drive improvements in this area.
  
  
• Product Development: Ownership of our beverage program including curation of seasonal product lineups, development of signature drinks and collaboration with the Roastery team on rotating single origins. This role encompasses all beverage development, not just coffee. Lead planning and execution of new launches across the cafe network.
  
  
• Training and Development: Provide clear vision, direction and oversight for the coffee training program. Mentor and develop key talent, supporting baristas in their pursuit of growth opportunities within the company and beyond (i.e. barista championships and competitions).
  
  
• Green Bean and Roasting Operations: Work with the Roastery team on green bean sourcing and quality control for all products leaving the Roastery. Participate in quality assurance and cupping sessions, ensuring quality and consistency standards.
  
  
• Brand & Experience: Manage initiatives to increase engagement with coffee culture internally and externally. Represent FINEPRINT in the broader coffee community through festival participation, thought leadership events and other public facing opportunities.

What we’re looking for: 

• 8+ years leading teams in a specialty coffee environment. You know how to operate in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  
• Proven success working in a multi-outlet environment with regular store openings.
  
• You care deeply about hospitality, people, and the story behind the product.
  
• Passion for developing talent and building high-performing teams. You have a natural ability to break down complex theories into simple terms, and get people excited to learn.
  
• Deep knowledge of green coffee variables, sensory analysis, and advanced gear calibration. Competition background or Q-grader status is a massive plus.
